Emaar hikes Burj Khalifa service charges for 2011
Emaar Properties, the developer’s of Burj Khalifa, has increased service charge for residential, office and Armani units for 2011, 'Emirates24|7' can reveal. The Dubai-based developer has hiked the charges by between 4 and 7 per cent for this year, compared with 2010 charges.
Rescue of Dubai Bank exposes Emaar again
The builder of Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower, may write down the entire value of its Dh172.4 million investment in Dubai Bank as soon as the second quarter, the investment bank EFG-Hermes told investors in a note yesterday. The Dubai Government has taken control of the lender and says it will inject capital "to ensure that Dubai Bank's business continues uninterrupted".

Burj Khalifa suicide jumper ‘was grieving for dead brother’
Mr Kannan was a construction foreman in an area where finishing work was being done. He took off his shoes and left a diary near by before climbing out of an air vent on the 148th floor, Bur Dubai Police Station Chief Col Ali Ghanim said. Mr Kannan had suffered "severe psychological trauma caused by the death of his brother" in December, police said.

Man jumps to his death from Burj Khalifa
Dubai Police said: "The police operations room received a call about a suicide at the Burj Khalifa today, and CID and investigation teams were immediately dispatched.” After he jumped, the man hit the metal barriers of the tower, causing some damage before landing.
Italy eager to boost trade, investment ties with UAE

Emaar sets up senior team to develop new action plan
Emaar Properties said on Saturday it had set up a new team of senior managers and consultants to develop a five-year action plan. The Dubai-based developer of the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower, said the team would "develop and roll-out a five-year corporate strategic action plan for long-term value creation".
