Emirates Classic Car Festival registration opens
The festival will be held on Emaar Boulevard, overlooking the Burj Khalifa, and is being organised by Emaar Properties in association with the UAE Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development; the Automobile and Touring Club of the United Arab Emirates (ATCUAE); and the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens – the international authority for historic vehicles.
Dubai market rises while capital’s bourse retreats
Dubai shares tracked rising global stock markets yesterday. On the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) General Index, Emaar Properties, the developer of the Burj Khalifa, advanced 1 per cent to Dh2.81.
Dubai stocks dip amid unease
Dubai shares fell by the most in a week on lower oil prices amid concerns of a faltering global economy. Emaar Properties, the company that built the Burj Khalifa, lost 1.4 per cent to Dh2.77 a share on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM).
Market to remain sluggish
In property sector, Arabtec Holding and Emaar Properties gave support to the main index with modest gains in low-trade market activity. Arabtec advanced 2.98 per cent to Dh1.38 while Emaar climbed 1.81 per cent to Dh2.81. Union Properties fell 3.39 per cent to 37 fils.

Emaar Properties, Dubai’s largest developer by market value, saw an 85 per cent fall in its income from apartment sales during the second quarter, as demand for real estate continues to fall in the emirate.

Emaar Properties dragged on the Dubai index this morning after the developer’s Indian unit swung to a net loss. The Indian subsidiary of the developer of the world’s tallest skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, swung to a loss of 2.1 billion Indian rupees ($46 million) for the year ended March 31.
