Tom Cruise all praise for Dubai in latest visit
The Hollywood actor refused any questions and instead opened proceedings with nothing but praise for His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai — the city which Cruise says he had seen on a flight layover and knew he wanted to work in.

McLaren opens Mideast’s first outlet in Dubai

Bassel Al Masri, Senior Sales Director at Ocean View Real Estate, said, “The maintenance fee at Burj Khalifa is Dh55 per sq ft. Owners are happy as long as the rentals cover service charges and their apartments get used. Leaving them unoccupied has its own problems.”

The film was shot extensively in the UAE, with shoots taking place in and on top of Burj Khalifa, at The Palace hotel, in the streets of Satwa and at a purpose-built set in the International Media Production Zone on Emirates Road. Releasing in the UAE on December 15, the film is expected to be a centrepiece of the Dubai International Film Festival, with Cruise and company rumoured to be in town for a screening.

Is Tom Cruise coming early to Dubai?
The film was shot in Dubai last year and featured Cruise performing his own stunts on the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It’s expected to premiere at this Decemeber’s Dubai International Film Festival, and Cruise is also expected to visit India during the film’s promotional tour.

At.mosphere scales new heights with Guinness glory
Dubai boasts of a number of the world’s biggest and tallest structures, not to mention having at least five Guinness world record entries within one square kilometre in Downtown Dubai. The Guinness World Records presented a plaque yesterday recognising ‘At.mosphere’ as the world’s ‘Highest Restaurant from Ground Level”.
