Using a shade of classic pink, the diminutive version of the world’s tallest building was created using nothing more than a magnifying glass, carving knife and remarkably steady hands.

The Beauty Burj was created to mark the launch of the airport’s first International Lipstick Colours of the Year report, showcasing the most en vogue shades in 50 destinations around the world.

As part of the month-long exhibit, the airport commissioned hand-carved lipstick sculptures featuring other cities.

Jonathan Coen, retail director at Heathrow, said: “We launched the International Lipstick Colours of the Year report to reveal the lipstick looks people are wearing across the world, including Dubai, and the trends that are driving them. We know travellers from the UAE have their finger on the style pulse so we’re looking forward to seeing the reactions to our hand-carved Burj Khalifa lipstick – it’s an amazing month-long addition to Heathrow.” More info
