Dubai’s Burj Khalifa Tower to Hold Online Auction for Full Floor Corporate Space

Dubai’s sluggish commercial real estate market is getting international attention of sorts as Emaar Properties, the emirate’s largest developer, prepares to launch an online auction at its two-year-old, 3.3 million-square-foot Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower at 163 stories.

Dubai hotel rates on the increase

Dubai’s hotels increased their rates by up to 20 per cent in the first quarter of this year as properties capitalised on the peak season and Arab Spring unrest continues to benefit the emirate more than one year on. “The first quarter was really amazing,” said Wael El Behi, the executive assistant manager at the Ramada Downtown Dubai hotel.

The hotel is the 77-year-old’s second venture into the luxury lifestyle business – his first opened in Dubai in 2010 – and he regularly checks in on an experience which can cost guests up to 11,000 euros ($14,800) a night.

The first Armani hotel opened last year in the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, in Dubai. But Mr Armani says he feels much more of an “emotional” connection with the Milan property.

Following the opening of the Armani Hotel Dubai – located in Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building – the 95-room Milan hotel aims to continue Armani’s commitment to create a atmosphere conducive to “work, relaxation and pleasure”. As such, the hotel boasts a business centre, with conference rooms and IT facilities; a seventh-floor glass restaurant with views of the Duomo; and a eight-floor, panoramic beauty and treatment centre, gym and pool.
