I want to be on top of the world
A seven-year-old boy who is dying from a brain tumour is set to fulfil his last wish by travelling from America to Dubai to visit the Burj Khalifa. Noah Larkin has been infatuated with the world’s tallest building since he can remember and is determined to go up the 828m structure so he can feel “on top of the world”.

Visitors can travel to what is known as “At the Top” which isn’t really at the top but more like level 124. For those in a hurry, and who want to travel immediately, you’ll have to donate $133 to maintaining the building’s upkeep. If you can wait for a specifically dated and timed access, it will only cost $34, with virtually no discount for kids. Atmosphere Restaurant on the 122nd floor could be a better option as you can enjoy a meal with the view.
The sky’s the limit for tower developers
When the Burj Khalifa opened a year ago in a blizzard of lights and fireworks, it was hailed as the new champion among the world’s tallest buildings. But the 828-metre tower is simply the latest leader in a never-ending quest to reach for the sky.
President visits world’s tallest skyscraper
President Pratibha Patil today visited Burj Khalifa, the world”s tallest skyscraper, here. Patil, who is on an official visit here, visited the skyscraper, which was officially opened on January 4 this year. It was previously known as Burj Dubai. Burj means tower in Arabic language. Burj Khalifa has a number of records to its credit.
