Emaar reverts on dividend payment for 2010
Emaar Properties, the Dubai developer, yesterday reversed its decision not to pay a dividend for 2010 by agreeing to pay 10% of the company’s share value.

Emaar Properties, builder of the world’s largest tower Burj Khalifa, said on Monday that it is approving a 10 per cent cash dividend for 2010. Emaar’s board had originally planned to withold a dividend for the past year, but at a shareholders’ meeting on Monday, Emaar Chairman Mohammed Alabbar agreed to a 10 per cent dividend.

Palazzo Versace Dubai, the AED2.3bn ($626m) hotel and residences branded by the Italian fashion house, has sold 80 percent of its units, the developer behind the venture has said. Emirates Sunland Group, a joint venture between the UAE’s Emirates International Holdings and Australian-based Sunland Group Limited, also said construction on the luxury property is more than 80 percent complete.

Burj Khalifa sculpture to contribute to area’s cultural evolution
A sculpture of a traditional Gulf couple, unveiled in Downtown Dubai yesterday, is intended to contribute to the area’s evolution as a cultural and arts centre, said Mohamed Alabbar, the chairman of Emaar Properties. The white marble and black granite figures of a man in a khandoura and a woman in an abaya, called Together, have been placed on Emaar Boulevard, close to the entrance of the Burj Khalifa.
Emaar net profit falls 62%
Emaar Properties, builder of the world’s tallest tower, posted a 62 percent fall in fourth-quarter profit, hit by impairments related to its associates and the results missed analysts forecasts. Emaar handed over 3,500 units in the UAE and internationally in 2010, including over 770 units in Burj Khalifa and 420 units in international markets.
