Burj Khalifa observation deck closes for upgrade

At The Top, the world’s highest observation deck housed on the 124th floor of Burj Khalifa, has been temporarily closed for “maintenance and upgrade,” it was announced on Sunday. “Due to unexpected high traffic, the observation deck experience at the Burj Khalifa, At The Top, has been temporarily closed for maintenance and upgrade. Technical issues with the power supply are being worked on by the main and sub-contractors and the public will be informed upon completion,” a Burj Khalifa spokesperson said in a statement.

Burj Khalifa’s observation deck has been closed to the public until further notice, little more than one month after it opened, due to problems with the power supply.

What to Expect at the World’s Highest Observation Deck in Dubai’s Burj Khalifa

To get to “At the Top,” the observation deck’s, you have to enter through The Dubai Mall’s lower-ground level. Before you pop your ears on the elevator up, brush up on your knowledge of Dubai and the building with multimedia displays like “Dubai Then and Now,” “From Earth to the Sky” and “From Vision to Reality.” You’ll also see a big illuminated model of the Burj Khalifa, formerly called the Burj Dubai, where you can learn about the skyscraper.
