Arabtec Construction has been awarded an AED1.8 billion contract to build a mixed-use high-rise tower on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai.
The tower will be one of Dubai’s top ten tallest buildings and the second tallest tower in the central business district. It will be built just one block away from the Burj Khalifa – another Arabtec creation.
The 77-floor tower will rise to a height of 369.1 metres and will comprise more than 22,000 square metres of office space and 908 square metres of retail area on 18 floors. It will also include a new international 350-room hotel, and 83 serviced and 180 luxurious apartments.
Negotiations are under way with a number of world-leading hospitality brands for the management of the six-star hotel and serviced apartments, which will collectively occupy 25 floors. Construction of the tower, designed by the world-renowned infrastructure company Atkins, is scheduled to begin in mid November 2013 and will take 42 months to complete. More info
