One of five hotels operated in Dubai by The Address group, The Palace perches on the edge of the surreally blue Dubai Lake (featuring a dancing fountain) with views of the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building. The hotel is at the heart of Dubai's Downtown precinct, linked to the Souk al-Bahar, allowing guests to stroll to restaurants, cafes and the 1200 shops of Dubai Mall.

After Hong Kong was recently voted the best Asian destination by a leading travel site, another addition in this harbour city is all set to woo the world. The world's highest hotel, Ritz-Carlton Hotel, opened at the 118th floor of Hong Kong's International Commerce Centre (ICC), the world's fourth tallest building, in early May.

That’s why our tour group checks into the Armani Hotel (yes, designed and named after the fashion icon Giorgio Armani), which just happens to be in the aforementioned world’s tallest building — the 828-metre 160-storey Burj Khalifa.

The Address is owned by Emaar Hospitality Group, which also owns Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world and Dubai Mall, the world’s largest mall and entertainment complex, both in the newly-created 'downtown' area of Dubai. 

Also part of Emaar’s portfolio is Atmosphere, the restaurant which opened this year at 122 storeys high to great success within Burj Khalifa, Arora said, and Armani Dubai, a five-star hotel within the tower.



Dubai is already the site of the world’s first Armani Hotel developed by Emaar Properties. It's not cheap to stay at Georgio Armani's hotel in the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. Rooms normally start at around $600 per night, and suites can cost many times that. But Jetsetter, the invitation-only travel deals website associated with Gilt Groupe, is offering an awesome deal for standard rooms at $420 per night.

In a glittering ceremony at Burj Khalifa, Dubai, Raffles Makkah Palace was crowned Middle East's Leading Luxury Hotel by the World Travel Awards, the travel industry's version of the Oscars. Votes were cast online by over 213,000 travel professionals around the world, from over 160 participating countries, who distinguished Raffles Makkah Palace above all others in the Middle East.

Giorgio Armani is reportedly in talks to open his first hotel in the UK in London's Knightsbridge. The new hotel would likely be in association with Emaar Properties, the company the designer collaborated with on his Dubai site. Paris, New York, Tokyo and Shanghai are also thought to be on the list for possible Armani Hotel openings.

Dubai and Abu Dhabi led the winners at last night’s World Travel Awards 2011 Middle East Ceremony held at the Armani Hotel Dubai. Abu Dhabi’s continuing rise to tourism stardom was rewarded, too, as it took home a host of top honors, including Middle East’s Leading Tourist Board and Middle East’s Responsible Tourism Award.
