Quoting figures from Dubai's Tourism & Commerce Marketing (DTCM) Department, Dubai Statistics Centre (DSC) website data showed yesterday that the number of rooms in Dubai went up by 12.3 per cent to 46,022 rooms in Q1 2010 compared with 40,984 rooms in 2009.

Luxury hotelier Elisabetta Gucci is planning 40 hotels over the next 15 years in the Middle East, Far East and South America and aims to open its first hotel in Dubai at the end of 2010, an executive said.
