Pink Slip Dubai, the UAE's pioneering recruitment and HR networking group teamed up recently with Hot Hoteliers, a leading hospitality networking group, to host a high-level recruitment forum that discussed the current state of recruitment within the local hospitality sector. Gerald Lawless, Executive Chairman of Jumeirah Group, was the keynote speaker of the night, addressing an audience of over 250 industry professionals on the importance of human capital to an organization and the ongoing need to train and develop staff.

Armani denies plan for third hotel in Russia
Italian design house Armani Group has denied it is planning to open a third branded hotel in Russia, under a joint venture deal with Dubai’s Emaar Properties. The design company, which launched its first branded hotel in Dubai’s Burj Khalifa in April last year, spoke out after press reports claimed it had signed a $150m deal to open a property in the Russian resort of Stavropol.

Armani denies plans for luxury hotel in Russia
Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani categorically denies press reports that the luxury hotel brand is planning to develop a hotel in Russia's Caucasus region, a company statement said Monday. Investment in the project was estimated at over 150 million dollars (109 million euros), the report said.

Saudi Arabia will help China build a $1.3bn luxury hotel modelled on Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, according to newspaper reports from Beijing. The People’s Daily Online quoted a senior official as saying that graphics and planning of the ‘seven-star’ hotel had already been completed. The announcement was made at a press conference on Wednesday.
Emirates bourses rebound
The country's main indexes rebounded yesterday as declines posted last week were seen as overdone, fund managers said. The Dubai Financial Market General Index gained 1.5 per cent to 1,605.89. Emaar Properties, the developer of the Burj Khalifa, gained 1.5 per cent to Dh3.30.
Hotel Missoni Kuwait on track for March launch
Missoni Kuwait is the latest in a growing list of Gulf hotels designed by top Italian fashion labels. The first Armani hotel opened in Dubai in 2010 and will be followed by the launch of the Palazzo Versace hotel later this year. Elisabetta Gucci, the great-granddaughter of the founder of the fashion label, last year said Dubai would be the setting for the first of up to 40 Gucci branded hotels.
