The man behind the Burj Khalifa says he is keen to build a tower in Asia that would soar more than 1km into the sky and steal Dubai’s crown as home to the world’s tallest building. Mohamed Alabbar, the chairman of property developer Emaar, says he has identified a possible location for the skyscraper, although did not reveal exactly where.

German photographer Sebastian Opitz took the pictures during the city’s foggy season. Skyscrapers can be seen piercing the clouds. These photographs make the desert look like a kingdom in the sky.

Just 37 years old, Arif Mirza is one of the few people in the world who can afford to live on the 35th floor of the towering Burj Khalifa. Never mind the building’s crappy human waste management system, this is luxury that some people dream of having. But Mirza plans to give it all up for 33 days.

Emaar Properties, the global property developer, will mark Earth Hour 2013 on March 23, with its developments taking part in the global initiative to raise awareness on energy conservation and climate change.

McNally, who told The Huffington Post he was standing on the railing of a support structure for the building's airplane warning lights, said the photo wasn't a work assignment -- it just "seemed like fun."

Real estate developers Bahria Town has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for $15 to $20 billion with US investors Thomas Kramer, Pakistan’s The News reported on Monday. As per the MoU, Bahria Town in collaboration with foreign companies associated with Thomas Kramer would construct the world’s tallest building and a number of other projects, almost 3.5km off the shore of Karachi.

“It is a true honour to be awarded the Green Globe Certification for the second consecutive time, one of the most prominent recognitions in the industry,” said Michael Sorgenfrey, General Manager at The Palace Downtown Dubai. “The certification is a testament to The Palace Downtown Dubai’s efforts to promote sustainability across all facets of the hotel’s operations.

"Currently, there is no Owners' Association for Burj Khalifa . Due to the unique nature of the project and the tower being an icon for Dubai and the UAE, it is essential that the management structure developed serves the interest of all stakeholders," an Emaar Properties spokesperson said.

It is understood to be close to snapping up the gatehouse which leads from Trafalgar Square to Buckingham Palace.
