Burj designers will sketch Godrej’s Gujarat township
The hands that designed the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa, will now be sketching homes for the Indian customer. None other than Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM), one of the world’s largest architectural and engineering firms, has been roped in by Godrej Properties for the Rs 5,000-crore project in Gujarat.

Power problem closes Burj Khalifa viewing deck
The Burj Khalifa’s observation deck has been closed to the public until further notice, little more than one month after it opened, because of problems with the power supply. In a statement, a spokesman for the world’s tallest tower said that yesterday afternoon’s sudden closure was for maintenance and upgrades, made necessary because of the high number of visitors over the past month.
