His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday praised the level of preparations and the persistent efforts of the Higher Committee to Host the World Expo 2020 and expressed confidence in their ability to make this national quest a reality.
Shaikh Mohammed gave instructions to the Higher Committee to intensify communications with Asian and African member countries at the International Exhibitions Bureau, or BIE, to win their vote of support.
Shaikh Mohammed was talking to members of the committee during a meeting to review progress on the UAE’s bid to host the World Expo 2020 at the Emirates Towers in Dubai.
The committee for Hosting the World Expo 2020 gave a detailed presentation highlighting its efforts to sell UAE’s strengths as the best destination to host this international event in Dubai under the theme “Connecting Minds… Building the Future”.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; and Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Higher Committee for Hosting the World Expo 2020, in addition to the Deputy Chairman and members of the committee.
